About
Anauseam is an open-source educational platform and community dedicated to exhaustive and unapologetic deep dives into niche, everyday, or highly specialized technical topics.
Educational material is often plagued by academic jargon, oversimplified explanations, or paywalls. We at Anauseam are committed to rigorous, digestible, and open education.
The Anauseam Ecosystem
Beyond simply discussing topics, we prove, build, and document them. To best show the extent of the subject matter, the Anauseam platform is built on three cornerstones:
- Video Essays: As an accessible and engaging exploration of topics, our video essays are designed to be both digestible and rigorous while maintaining the author's creative liberties. They are crafted to captivate, proving that you don't need to dumb a topic down to make it enjoyable.
- Ad Nauseam Analyses: For every video essay, there is a comprehensive, academically rigorous report hosted on our dedicated documentation site. Meant to be a reputable reference for the topics covered in the video essay, these living, open, interactive documents contain derivations, citations, and the full mathematical models behind the essay. They are freely available under open licenses (e.g., CC BY-SA) to ensure the knowledge remains public.
- Open-Source Projects: To prove the feasibility of the concepts we cover, we frequently build projects to demonstrate their real-world applications. Any hardware or software associated with an Anauseam deep dive is entirely open-source. The tools are thoroughly documented and available for anyone to study, modify, or build upon, subject to the author's license.
Our Philosophy on Math
We like math, and we aren't going to hide it. We assume our audience has a solid grasp of calculus, but we welcome those who are less familiar with the fundamentals.
The physics we study is complex, and we embrace the language it uses. When we need to utilize heavier mathematical concepts, we either point to external resources to learn these topics or supply a supplemental document to provide the necessary background. We explore the derivations when they offer insight. Even for viewers who don't follow every single line of an equation, we want them to walk away with a profound appreciation for why the math is so crucial to the engineering and scientific reality.
Built by Authors, for the Curious
Anauseam is a growing, searchable database of projects and reports, driven by independent authors who share our passion for rigor.
We give our contributors complete autonomy over their work. While all written reports must maintain strict academic credibility, citations, and mathematical accuracy, authors are completely free to structure their accompanying video essays and open-source projects however they see fit, whether purely academic, entirely entertaining, or anywhere in between.
For those tired of the surface level who wish to explore the deep end, we have education Ad Nauseam.
